That hurts!

So earlier this afternoon, Emily was getting ready to go play at Nana & PawPaw's house. Her hair needed to be put up, and I was holding a sick pitiful little baby girl, so I asked Jarrod if he would take a stab at pulling her hair up. He was not very confident in his ability to do this, but I gave him a little demo on how to do it and they went in the bathroom. During the process, Emily said "Wow, you REALLY can make this hurt bad Daddy!!!" in her sarcastic tone. We just laughed hysterically!! Here's the finished product, haha....

Sterilizing

This evening while I was cooking dinner, Emily came in the kitchen and asked why we had several pacifiers sitting in the window sill above the sink. I told her that they were dirty and I needed to sterilize them. She then said "Mommy, what does sterilize mean?" I explained that when you sterilize something, you clean it really good. That's when she told me "Mommy, y'all need to sterilize me! I need a bath!!" I just laughed hysterically. She keeps us on our toes, that's for sure!

Another funny story...during her soccer game yesterday, she tripped and fell down pretty hard on the field. She immediately got up and looked over where we were all sitting and yelled "Mommy, I didn't even cry!!!" (We have had multiple conversations about all the crying at soccer and how it needs to stop)

Hope everyone has a great week!

Easter... a little late

We had a great long Easter weekend, and obviously I am a little late with my blog entry about it. Oh well. Jarrod did some much needed yard work and we cleaned up inside and had some fun too. On Good Friday, Emily and I dyed Easter eggs. She had a BLAST doing this and woke up that morning asking "Is it time to dye eggs yet Mommy?"

So proud of herself!

For Easter Sunday, we went to Luke & Kathryn's church in Chandler and then went to their house to eat. We had a great lunch, hamburgers with all the fixins. That's what we had last year, so I guess it's becoming our Easter tradition. Emily and Allison actually had matching dresses...I actually found matching dresses in sizes 6mos and 5! What are the odds of that!

Right now we are really busy with baseball season, so we have lots of girls' nights! Taking 2 kiddos to the games is not much fun for mommy, so I have been a really bad coach's wife this season! Oh well. I am going to really try to update this more often...I'm not off to a very good start! Hope everyone had a great Easter!

Blog newbie

So I finally decided to start a blog. I figure this will be easier than maintaining both the girls' babysites and we can share stories and pics this way. I love reading all my friends' blogs so I guess it can't hurt to share our boring lives with everyone as well. Please bear with me as I learn all the ins and outs of blogging.

Lately our lives have been really busy with Jarrod's baseball season and Emily starting soccer this spring. In the first couple of soccer games, Emily had quite a few melt-downs so I wondered if sports would be her thing. She also takes dance at school, so I am curious to see which route she will take. Anyway, the last soccer game went really well...much different than the first two. She played really well and only cried once because she got knocked down pretty hard. It was a really good game and we are so proud of our little Ladybug! We are thinking about possibly playing t-ball this summer with Green Acres so we got her a pink glove tonight at Academy. What did we ever do without that store here in Tyler?!?! Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend!
